If 5 volts is being supplied on the usb cable (the ipad charging indicator would confirm it is), then it is charging the ipad. Given the battery life on my controller relative to the drone, I doubt it will ever be a factor.

Complete a Bill of Sale documenting the transaction. You will then have a record of the sale if something goes wrong in the future.

The bird is stable enough that long exposures of several seconds are pretty easy to get. Experiment with the time to get the proper exposure on the rest of the photo....

I 'launch' from my back yard all the time... My first order of business was to introduce the drone to my neighbors (and their interested children)... I run it up to 150', let the parents watch the video and let the kids fly a little (I hold the controller, they fly the right stick only)...

I have thought of using the led power to run an actuator of some sort. You can turn the leds on/off from the controller.

If you still have a green light on your controller, you still have a connection and likely control of the aircraft. If that light turns red, you have lost contact and the aircraft should initiate RTH. What it does at that point is determined by your configuration (RTH, Hover, Land, etc...) If...
