Thanks for your replies. I think that's how you do it with the Advanced / Professional remote, no? This is the Standard edition, which doesn't give you an option to connect the remote to your phone via USB. It just has a Mini-USB port for charging.

The method it says in the User Manual is to turn on the aircraft, press the link button, then turn on the remote, holding the gimbal dial to the left while pushing the S2 switch up and down. The remote flashes and beeps but just fails linking. :/
