OK. I have said this was a drug deal going down in previous videos, but after someone suggested I should have used 2X zoom on my camera I decided to use Powerdirector to zoom in on the video to see if I can make out the make of car and truck. After I did that and reviewed the video , I noticed what was really happening. The one guy in the middle has a gun and takes a shot at my P4 while the other 2 hole their hands over their ears.

Hope you catch them! That is slightly illegal... shooting at a UAV like that.

Probably a drug deal, why else would they be running like cowards.

Even the fact they were even so parinoid to go and commit a few crimes to try and shot it proves that they were up so some thing no good cause those types are the only ones that have any legit fears of a drone whats so ever. Its why any time I even hear of any one being freaked out by a drone the first thing I think is what is it that they are so worried about any one seeing.

Definitely not an air rifle and it has some recoil watch it full screen and you'll see the recoil in his body/head.

No drug deal, just kids (punks)out shooting at the pond, they already had the gun out like they were plinking! They prob didnt have permission to be there!
Its funny Fallguy, at first i thought they were clowns the way they just threw the rifle in the backseat (no case) then BOTH ran to the passenger side and dived in together! Seemed comical!
BTW, good piloting on the chase Fallguy

That'll be a shotgun - you can see the shell wadding flying through the air at 0:16 just after he fires. Looks like he's a long way behind your P4, so obviously doesn't clay or duck hunt very often!

I wasn't moving very fast at the time of the shot going off (7 mph) . As far as what type of gun , at first I thought maybe a 22 caliber , because of hardly any smoke. But then as BigAI07 and TDK mention the other facts about the wadding and recoil , now I think it was a shotgun. Even though we were only a 3/4 of a mile away , we never heard the shot . Had I heard them out there shooting prior to flying that way , I wouldn't have . There are several houses/properties where people are out shooting (target ) and I avoid those areas This is not an area where we ever heard people shooting before and probably is not an area where they should be doing it as well.
I know after flying that evening , the top of one of my props was missing (round piece where the black/silver ring is) . I dont think they could have hit that and knocked it off . Gonna check the quad out better now.

Fact that they shouldn't be doing it there is why I think they ran off like a bunch of clowns

Exactly . I'm going to go look around the general neighborhood for these idiots.

I'd think about reporting this to the police. I don't know the law in your area but discharging a weapon at that location may be unlawful in and of itself. Taking a pot shot at your drone may be another law broken. If there is a shell casing on the ground that may be incriminating evidence. I wouldn't touch that, however, except to put it in a plastic bag without putting my hands on it and being careful not to smudge fingerprints that might be on it. Even then I probably wouldn't touch it unless the police said it was OK.

Without the proper credentials evidence obtained by drone is usually (not always) inadmissible in court (at least for now).

Also don't collect anything from the scene as once you take it the chain of custody can no longer be verified.

Pretty crazy stuff. I agree that it's very unlikely this is a drug deal or anything so dramatic. Probably just kids trespassing and shooting where they don't belong.

It may not benecessary to use the footage as evidence. If the culprits can be found by the police and shown the video they may admit what they've done.

So what was the stuff they threw out the truck into the pond in the first video? Any idea to what that was?

Went to the lake today to look for a shell casing but didnt find any. After looking at the video yet again, I can see why. The 3rd guy (dark shirt) looks like he picks up the shell casing .
Also talked to a lady who has lived in the area all her life and she says the owner of the property lets certain people hunt around there, even though I doubt these kids had permission. This lady and her husband's whole family live all around my sisters house and even lived in her house as well. They were not the kind of people that would like anybody on their property let alone fly over it. So I have to be careful where I fly out there.
I dont think the police would care too much out in this mostly farmland part of town . Like I said before , there are a lot of people shooting at any time of the day.
